About the Job
RECEPTIONIST:
  • Proficiency in communication, customer service, and sales skills are the main requirements for this position.
  • Additional requirements for the position includes basic math, cash handling, phone, and computer skills.
  • The ideal applicant must be outgoing, cheerful, engaging, energetic, resourceful, industrious, and imaginative.

Reports to: Owner, Shop Manager, or Assistant Shop Manager.

Overview: Receptionists' responsibilities include: 
  • Offering a friendly welcome to all clients and facilitating a smooth transition between their arrival, service, and check out.
  • Accomplishing sales goals by leading our clients to the payment & membership options that best meet their needs.
  • Assisting Owner, Shop Manager, and/or Assistant Manager as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Sales experience is mandatory.
  • Reliability is mandatory.
  • Previous sales and customer service experience required.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic shop environment.
  • Strong phone and computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Strong leadership qualities; motivated and respectful.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors and clients.
  • Strong ability to multitask.
  • Salon/Barbershop experience is a plus.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to understand and explain how Hammer & Nails memberships work to our guests.
  • Scheduling appointments for our guests.
  • Providing our guests with a tour of the location, including serving complimentary beverages to our guests.
  • Cleaning duties which include: washing towels, sweeping and taking out trash, etc.
  • Selling memberships.
  • Providing an exceptional experience to every Hammer & Nails guest.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Understand the needs of customers; handle and resolve customer service issues.
  • Provide the client with a clear understanding of the shop policies and pricing.
  • Upsell services and retail products to meet the customers needs.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with shop personnel.
  • Provide shop tours as necessary or requested.
  • Complete administrative, sales and required other tasks.
  • Greet clients and check in members/guests.
  • Promote and sell memberships and retail products.
  • Answering telephones.
  • Setting and confirming appointments.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are adhered to Account for all money daily.
  • Organizing and maintaining Shop Cleanliness.
  • General administrative and clerical support.
